Much like the Demon (if you've read Jhereg, you know who we mean), imadra_blue and I have climbed our way up somewhere and declared where we are to be the top. We're the big fish in a very small pond.

We are the Dragaera BNFs. We rule the fandom!

imadra_blue is the author of Dragon's Bane, the first ever Dragaera fic published on the web. I myself have never finished any of the Dragaera stories I've started, but I am responsible for the existence of a Dragaera section at FF.net (although, in true BNF style, I later threw a hissy fit and withdrew all my WIPs from their site). Also, I am the genius behind the Dragaera Ficathon which is still taking sign-ups and everyone who's ever read Brust should sign up right now. Because I said so.

imadra_blue and I are drunk on power. (The POWER, the ABSOLUTE POWER....) We have realized that with so little fantext currently in existence, we'd only need to write a two or three stories between us to institute some really fucked up standards in this fandom. Morrolan/Mellar is practically a cliché by now because we've both written it. We've been tossing oddball pairings back and forth--Kragar/Kiera. Vlad/Loiosh. Aliera/Kieron. We've contemplated pulling two names out of a hat to determine how to screw with the fandom.

I mentioned this to viridian5. She said we were acting with the best of intentions. *dying of hilarity* Not even. We are doing this to be CRUEL and EVIL. We want to SCAR you all for LIFE. We want other fandoms to look at our fandom and ask what crack we're smoking and where they can get some, yo.

There is only one way to stop us, girls: produce enough Dragaera fic that we cannot singlehandedly (doublehandedly?) affect the fandom's standards. Write, minions, write! Your only hope of seeing normal clichés in the fandom like Vlad/Morrolan or Cawti/Norathar is to write them yourselves. We won't do it for you. We are out to subvert the fandom in every conceivable manner.
