Exciting adventures in fic reading

So, White Collar fandom so far has been really awesome about the threesomeness. Peter has a wife, she's totally in on this thing with him and Neal. It's great.

And yet. Even though Kate fucked off in canon, every once in a while a story manages to ring warning bells for me about Dismissing the Woman for Slash, even when it's for threesome. I think it's in how this particular brand of fiction required Neal to disavow his feelings for her?
