Sign-ups are until Jan 1, so I have time to think about this but--
The word count is only 15K, I am pretty damn sure I will hit that with the Assembly Con story (and if I don't, I could start writing Part II: The Wedding? but I'm pretty sure I will, have I mentioned the outline + first scene is 11,000 approximately, jfc), I actually think it would be super awesome to get some art for this story (there's fanart mentioned in it that alas I cannot draw, though I was tempted to gamely try), and if I don't just... write the whole thing in a surprise word vomit in the next month, having a deadline a few months down the line might get me to stick with it.
(Is there any ethical issue about signing up for a big bang with something you've already started writing? Although to be fair, I didn't start writing it until after sign-ups were already open...)
Advice?
ETA: So that's not happening, because

It depends
some mods ask for it to be less than 3k, and others don't care. the prevailing census is that the work should not have been 'published' online before. either way you are good.
Re: It depends
*rubs chin*
That's fine
But with fandom seemingly going that way, I might have to get my finger out and bust a move - or two.
Re: That's fine
What Avengers reality does this encompass?
All of them. Stories can be written for any Marvel universe as long as the main focus is the Avengers. This includes Marvel 616, Marvel Ultimates, Marvel Movie!Verse etc. etc.
Oh ho?
I could do this. No one might read it, but that's not the point - the point is I can finish with a deadline in mind. I could do this!
Re: Oh ho?
Re: Oh ho?
Damn and I only need a minimum of two Avengers members from any team to make it happen? Oh my goodness.
I have a cap_im exchange to finish and hand in by December 18th, and work will be crazy cakes but I think I can make it work by then.
Re: Oh ho?
Yeah, I did do
Thanks for the heads up for this, truly.

Timetables can do *amazing* things for me. I would say most of my vids would not exist if not for vividcon. And some years it feels like yuletide is all I write.

(in other words, I wasn't promising art to make you write more/faster, I was seking inspiration so I could draw more. I think I need to start getting more than 5.5 hrs of sleep a night)

But if it's ineligible--or if it is eligible, but I decide not to go the big bang route--I will let you know, because art! art is EXCITING!

(Man, I feel a little bad, I suspect they took forever to answer because they must have been deliberating about how to let it in, and I'm like, heh no.)
Anyway: if you are still interested in doing art for the the Assembly Con fic, I am all for it, and let me know if I can do anything for you aside from have you on the WIP filter :-)

If you have particular images you'd like to see, that'd help. Doesn't have to be from this story, even. I find "Darcy and Loki get up to shenanigans" a bit....nebulous to draw. A sentence, a scene, really anything. Thor is the only Avengers-continuity movie I have access to, though, so if you want something involving characters from the other movies you might have to point to relevant vids/screen caps.

Hey, if by some miracle we can get Reassembled finished before the new year, seanchai and I will have an excuse to finish the WWII AU fic that we started for the last big bang and then abandoned when we realized it didn't have a plot beyond "WWII aircraft are cool, Steve is lame when he tries to flirt with girls."
... except that's mostly Steve, Tony, Bucky, and Betsy Ross, with a possible sequel about Tony, Rhodey, and Temujin "Gene" Khan* that I'll probably stay too intimidated about trying to write about the Pacific Theater to ever write, so I'm not sure it counts as "Avengers." It's more "Golden Age Cap characters + Tony" and "Armored Adventures WWII AU."
*AKA "The Awesome Fighter Pilot Adventures of Gene & FlyingTiger!Rhodey (also featuring Tony Stark)"
