I like the new update page but my brain went "but WHERE IS THINGS" when the subject line was on top

If I'm going to get anything done I think I need to close all the fic and glitch and dreamwidth and twitter and pinboard and.

Yeah, let's try dropping off of the face of the internet again in favor of writing and homework and packing. Plan? Plan.

ETA: huh, only took me an hour and a half to clear all my tabs into Pinboard. SHALL I NOW GO FORTH AND BE PRODUCTIVE?

ETA2: The good news is, I'm writing. The bad news is, have I mentioned I keep a large image of Steve open for inspiration? Well, HE'S JUDGING ME.

screencrap of two overlapping brwosers windows containing respectively Captain Judgy-Pants and gmail compose message box full of fic about the kinkmeme

Now, see, I would find Steve in his uniform distracting rather than inspirational. :P

I was flummoxed by the subject line across the update page too!. Then I remembered that we were supposed to be able to rearrange the post. There was much poking at posts before I noticed the "settings" button.

*headdesk*

But now I have things where I want them. :-)

You have:
* an image of Steve open
* positioned to look at the text window
* judging you
* as you write a fanfic about fanfic

I have no words for this.

Oooh, he's pretty. Is the Captain America movie worth seeing? (Yes, I read fic without seeing the canon source.)

YEEEES!!!! It's like a combination of the old Indiana Jones films and a lots of the 40s and 50s pulp feel. Also, Steve Rogers is just so nice and sincere, and there is SOOOOO much feelings!!!!

I am conflicted because, well, WW2. I have issues with Holocaust As Film Genre (one reason I will probably not be watching First Class). I know this is about White Guy On Steroids Beats Up Nazis, but even before the movie came out, I'd read some Captain America stuff about him liberating camps. Is that in the movie?

The film actually steer away from the Holocaust and the truly political aspects of history. There is Hydra (the bad guys, who are part of the Nazi regime, but for 95% it is them that's the bad guys), and there is rescue of Allied forces but once again they are being held by Hydra as opposed to Nazi.

I know there were a section of the audience who felt that the film ignored the horrors of WWII, but I wasnt one of them because I think they handled this without cashing in on the holocaust.

I am very wary of that whole cashing in thing, and also revisionist history, and also in addition to everything... okay, there is no good way to say this, but... ffs, it wasn't just Jews. And I think there's a tendancy in media to, uh, ignore that. And more things that I shouldn't be ruminating on this close to midnight if I want to be able to sleep at night. It's just, to sum up, Holocaust stuff? A deal breaker. Seriously, I just broke up with White Collar over it, didn't watch anything in season 3 and I don't think I'll go back even once I've been assured they're done with the Nazi thing.

OH GODS! This photo and the one of him walking down the stress in the same outfit (pics taken of the Avengers shoot). I have never found Chris Evans hot, but as Steve Rogers he is just stupidly attractive to me. STEEEEDEVE!
