What, what is this even

I would be less annoyed about my new diurnal schedule if I didn't turn into a punpkin at nine at night. Like, non-negotiably, just, pass out.

How do I need ten hours of sleep a night, guys.

This happened to me, too, a couple years back. Before that, I seriously stayed up until dawn quite regularly. I loved it. Then suddenly, every night I was falling asleep between eight-thirty and nine. It was like a switch was flipped, the difference was that extreme.

Lately, it seems to finally be easing up a bit, and I've managed to actually stay up until eleven or midnight here and there. But, yeah, I'm pretty sure my night owl days are behind me. Very bizarre.

How much sleep I need is a mystery to me. Some days, it's nine-ten hours or I'm a zombie; others, I can go at full speed on nine hours spread over two or three days. Makes no sense at all.

I thought that was leading up to "I can't stop thinking up Incredibly Lame Puns", rather than passing out. :P

Personally? I need nine. (And I'd take ten if it's on offer, gladly.) I dunno how those seven- or eight-hour people do it, I really don't.

Everyone told me, when I was in high school and college, that I would "get used to" this business day schedule.

I am now 43. To be fully functional, I need to sleep until 8 or 9 am. No matter how much sleep I got the night before. I can go to bed at 9 pm but to be fully conscious and functional, I must sleep until 8 or 9. I can go to bed at 4 am, but if I can sleep until 8 or 9, I am usually entirely functional. I have never "gotten used to" this stupid business day schedule.

Everyone's sleep cycle is totally different. No one with anything like authority wants to admit it, though.
