It sort of got peanut butter on my, hmm, asparagus.

And I kind of want the fic I thought it was from the description. Which, by the way, was neither peanut butter nor asparagus, but more like... sashimi.

This metaphor may possibly be getting away from me.

I should probably go eat something.

This is an oh-so-perfect analogy. (I am assuming from the context that you occasionally enjoy asparagus, but not when it's unexpected. Unexpected Asparagus would be a good album title.)

Unexpected asparagus is a little out there! And peanut butter on it just sounds horrifying. On the other hand I've eaten and enjoyed sushi with asparagus.

EXACTLY!

Like, I love peanut butter and I love asparagus, and potentially I could even love the two together, but when I want my sashimi dipped in delicious soy sauce and wasabi I get horribly morose because I have been craving for it all day. And at the end of the day it just isn't what I wanted.

I can take or leave peanut butter, but this is a fandom where peanut butter is on everything, so I just sort of expect it, it's true! Still, I didn't quite see how it went with asparagus... and it definitely did not belong on sashimi. Which is currently in the fridge.
