Hey, is there any fic about Gabriel's vessel? I mean, he's an angel, presumably he has to have one, and presumably he had to get permission, because even Satan needs permission?

I am just going to remind myself that Gabriel did not actually appear in season four so there is no need to bump my cast numbers from six to eight. *headdesk* Though. Though it could answer the question of "where the fuck's the body coming from..."

My personal guess, just going on a feel of narrative rightness, is that his vessel is either a complete jerk who Gabriel felt needed taking down a few pegs OR someone with similar tastes who he thought would enjoy the ride. Or, you know, both, since the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Delicious only handed me one link, it was... interesting? Sam and Dean were very confused. Because he was... a guy, from about a thousand years ago, who was fine continuing to be Gabriel's host because there was work to be done.

Gabriel mentioned that he got a "face transplant" after leaving heaven, right? I wonder if this could be used, were one so inclined, to support the idea that he doesn't have a traditional vessel, but instead did something mysterious along the lines of Anna's "I called in some favors to get a copy of the body I wanted after the original was destroyed"...?
