I am far more sanguine than I would otherwise be

Bran (the first media drive I had, which is now the traveling slut drive and four years old) had another breakdown. One of the pins on the power connection was bent and broke when [personal profile] nshoe tried to straighten it. However, [personal profile] nshoe put Bran's brains in another enclosure! This will be zir third. It's temporary and involves tape.

Can haz Bran via USB now, at least. I have heart for [personal profile] nshoe.

... was this the one I did for you, and how on earth did you manage to break it? ;)

We have no idea how it managed to bend the way it did and as fully as it did, but it presumably happened in transit: it worked fine when Teresa had it at work, when I attempted to hook it up, it turned out to have a bent pin that could not be unbent.

Really, just... Bran was so named for a reason. Which, okay, you don't know the story/universe zir namesake is from, but: Bran is an uncommunicative bitch who changed zir body/outsides. And also, an asshole. :P

Oh dear.

I'll have a look and see if I can locate either a) another power brick that should work, or b) an enclosure with a power supply built into it. I know they exist.

Edit: Would this be something you would be willing to put up with?
