Who you people are

I haven't actually voted, but your reboot tag just got linked by someone on my flist as being a great source of ST11 recs, so if you're seeing an influx of new people, that's probably why.

And they're probably not commenting because they're not on DW; it took me several minutes to figure out how to comment without a DW account, and I would have just given up except you sounded like you really wanted an explanation! I suspect DW comment rates are going to stay quite low until everyone who doesn't have or want an account has some impetus (like this was for me) to figure out why they aren't allowed to comment. (You, for instance, have disabled anon commenting, which is totally understandable, but means that to people who aren't logged into OpenID, it looks like there's no option other than getting a code and opening an account. It wasn't until I worked through the whole "WTF is OpenID?" thing that I saw that you actually DO allow OpenID commenting; it looks just the same as the anon option, ie not available, to people who aren't logged in.)

Sorry for the confused exposition, but I hope this explains the random people!

Ah, good point on the not being able to vote. As for the poll, I'd say people see polls like this as fun rather than a real "people who know me, help me" kind of thing, like if you really wanted very specific and useful advise you'd ask your friends, not Dr. Internet (not that I'm saying you asked Dr. Internet, just that's the vibe I get from polls generally). I think people just go "yay, ticky boxes, I get to have Input!" and select stuff they think is cool and would like to see more of.

Hey *waves*

here from the link in (does LJ code even work here) [personal profile] seperis's LJ, recommending you as the source of all ST:reboot goodness.

I'm a long term fan of her Merlin fic, was grabbed by her meta on ST:reboot and am hanging around desperately looking for convincing new ST fic...

ST fandom seems to be out of control atm!

( I really must get myself settled in to dreamwidth, but not tonight)
