Chuck, one episode from the end of season
Cringeworthy Chuck and Sarah nearly getting it on. My vast and immense relief when Morgan's IOU CONDOM note stopped the proceedings. Yet, on the other hand, they're going to let lack of condom stop them? I bitched about this like five times to
I mean, hey, if they *had* kept going at it and had had non-penetrative sex, Casey would have busted down the door in the middle of something interesting and that could have been fun?
Moment of dying of laughter: Chuck using the Chuck/Sarah shipper's mantra of "Don't freak out" on Devon. AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
And then! Also! CASEY'S PROBLEM IS YOU WENT AWOL WITHOUT HIM! NO RUNNING OFF WITHOUT CASEY! TAKE HIM WIIIIIITH YOOOOUUUUU! Casey love Chuck and Sarah longtime. Also, my reaction when he nailed the Chuck photo in the forehead was not so much "now he's ready to kill them" as "ha, he's totally pissed off." He wasn't ordered to kill them, he was ordered to bring them back dead or alive, which gave him as much latitude as he wanted. Shooting the photo? Letting off steam.
But then! OMG THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL THE SHOW. They totally wrote this like they were getting canceled, let's break the Buy More, let's break the Intersect in Chuck's head, let's end the mission, let's let Chuck have his life back... if the show is not canceled, I'm not sure how they're going to retangle all those loose ends. And furthermore, more depressingly, THAT IS NOT CHUCK'S HAPPY ENDING. Chuck doesn't want to go back to being a Buy More stooge as his full-time life and say good-bye to Casey and Sarah who will be reassigned to other missions and not get to save the world on a regular basis. Chuck doesn't want to be who he was at the beginning of the series. They tried to sell us, this season, that Chuck didn't actually want to be a spy, that offered the opportunity he would realize it didn't suit him and that he wanted out--but OMG HE WANTS HIS TEAM. HE WANTS SARAH AND CASEY TO LOVE HIM FOREVER AND EVER AND KICK BUTT AND BE A TEAM. TEAM CHUCK UBER ALLES. If the mission really is over and Casey and Sarah really do leave, Chuck will be the SADDEST SAD PANDA TO EVER SAD ON THE SAD, SAD FACE OF THE EARTH. THAT ENDING WOULD SUCK BALLS OF SAD SUCKINESS.
Also I still think it is kind of bullshit that it's remotely possible to remove the Intersect from Chuck's head. I can only hope that someone you know, writing the show maybe, realizes this, and that therefore IT IS NOT OVER AND CHUCK WILL GET TO PLAY WITH CASEY AND SARAH FOREVER AND EVER.
You know, I'm a lot less anti-Chuck and Sarah getting it on if they remember to ask Casey if he wants to join them. Ahem.
Uh, so, Chuck brings out my manic all caps of glee and horror? Yeah.

Now, as long as it doesn't end up on a cliffhanger, we're good to go!

I mean, I love the Buy More guys and all, but Chuck is starting to go crazy working there, and I think by this point it's getting less funny and more sort of cruel.

Also: I am not quite sure what to make of Morgan leaving. I don't love the guy, but the character seems to hold... some kind of grounding role in Chuck's life.

That's true. And there's still Roark completely unsubtly left loose. But they stabbed so MANY things that 'm worried about the "we broke it, it's OVER" factor. Because shows do write endings that actually end things when the want to achieve endingness. Like *handwave* Slings and Arrows? At the end of season three there's like, cast dispersal. They've been kicked out of New Burbage, some of them are doing arty independent theatre and some of them have run away to Bolivia and it was very much a "we blew it up, no getting the band back together" ending.
Now, as long as it doesn't end up on a cliffhanger, we're good to go!
I would actually be more relieved by this in terms of they didn't think this was a good and happy place to end it!

I'm still waiting for Bryce to show up, damnit, but I still want my resolution of 'you were horrible to me, even if you were trying to help and then you were horrible to me again, and again with the sunglasses, you jerk!'

Still! Wouldn't that be a great season finale! <3
(I have no Chuck icons. This is sad. *takes a break from paper writing to go look*)

You say much that is wise.

Casey walking in on them would have been win and I concur, OT3~~~!
I knew Casey's nose was out of joint because they ran off without him; they didn't even consider asking him. When he said, "I don't care" to Chuck's freakout about his dad it was so... grumpypants pouty! <3
I can't believe the Intersect is gone! Maybe it is a really efficient algorithm now so Chuck can pack more info in and that's why his head feels different? *hopes* I was really hoping he'd flash on something at the end there. I think what is more likely is he's going to realize his 'normal' life isn't waiting for him, much like Morgan is no longer waiting for him, and that he can't return to the safe cocoon of apathy he spent five years curled up in and he willingly signs up with the NSA (NSA is WAY MORE relevant for an Intersect agent than the CIA) and volunteers to become the first, real, Intersect agent. They set it up with Roark's pep talk to the Fulcrum agents in the drive through...
;____; So much awesome but also so much fail. If they break the premise how will it continue?

I'm not sure it's old-fashioned so much as inexperienced--I am not sure whether we're supposed to think Chuck has had sex with anyone other than Jill, ever.
Actually I was wondering if the IOU from Morgan was a replacement at the "what do you mean we can't show a condom on broadcast tv?" stage, because I halfway expected it to be an expired condom from, well, circa six years ago.
