You might want to clarify whether the poll is, as the title implies, for slashers only, or for everyone on your flist.

There are non-slashers on my flist?

[identity profile] cimadness.livejournal.com 2005-05-17 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you'd have to define "slash" (does f/f count?) and "er" (if one theoretically writes m/m (or f/f, if f/f counts), but doesn't actually ever get around to writing anything ever, does that count?).

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2005-05-17 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
F/F most definitely DOES count.

Also, I think a slasher is not necessarily a writer of slash, merely one who sees the potential for slash.

What are Clinton rules?

Blowjobs don't count. *g*

I did not have sexual relations with that woman!

So that time, a cigar isn't just a cigar? ;-)

I did write slash when I was a virgin too (and het, come to that) and it wasn't too terrible. What was terrible about it was more to do with me only being 14 than anything else. I know some very good slash writers now who are virgins. I think it's more about maturity and the willingness to do good research, really.

Interesting poll! :)

High school biology, meet slash.

Oh, you don't want to *know* the things I wrote...

I sometimes consider posting some of my old stuff just for a giggle... it's kind of heartening to see how far I've come. If excruciatingly embarrassing at the same time!

What's virginity, or lack thereof, got to do with slash?

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2005-05-17 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a bit of a joke, all the inexperienced girls writing sex scenes. *G*

[identity profile] wyomingnot.livejournal.com 2005-05-17 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I figured as much.

But it's not like any of us females have ever fucked anyone up the ass with our own dick, yeah?

[identity profile] holde-maid.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
That's funny, because I never wrote sex scenes before I'd been married for quite a while.

*There are non-slashers on my flist?*

No, I'm not REALLY a slasher. The one remotely adult m/m story I wrote was basically an exercise. I wanted to know if I could do it. (I could. *eg*) Never did f/f - too little personal experience to be able to put in enough variety. ;-)

Gasp! Horror! *makes sign of the cross at you*

[identity profile] cygna-hime.livejournal.com 2005-05-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
*blush* Um, yeah. #1 reason I don't write sex scenes. (#'s 2 and 3 being that people read this journal I have to look in the face every day, and I don't want them to see me failing to write porn.)

[identity profile] nirejseki.livejournal.com 2005-05-21 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I am, but at least I refused to write sex scenes until I was absolutely sure I could pull it off. Which involved much research...*cough* otherwise known as reading slash and comparing until I got the basics down *cough*. Not exactly 'painful to do' research. *grins* So I - thankfully - passed my newbie fic writer period before even making an effort. *considers* Actually, I still don't write them the majority of the time....
