jmtorres: Good Omens chibis. "Was it good for you, too, angel?" (good omens)

Tasty fic

Have been reading Good Omens fic. Thought I might start keeping track of stuff I really liked.

Falling Rain by [livejournal.com profile] ariastar--Crowley stows aboard Noah's ark, and Aziraphale finds him. Sweet. Mild slash.

Angel of Death by [livejournal.com profile] afrai--crossover with Highlander. Methos/Aziraphale slash. Silly and short.

The Best Christmas Ever by [livejournal.com profile] fox1013--I've mostly been focusing on Crowley and Aziraphale, who are barely present in this story, but this is so exactly in the tone of the original that I had to note it. Gen. Fluffy.

Cumulative Effort by [livejournal.com profile] jamjar--I'm highly enamoured of the idea that Aziraphale is not a sexual innocent, that he'll love people wholly and completely and sexually and that's not a sin. Also, Crowley pops up as a woman at one point, which is apparently not a unique idea in this fandom (if angels, fallen or otherwise, are sexless unless they put in the effort, then it follows that they can make themselves either sex) but amuses me anyway. Mild slash.

Last Minute by Lovely Zelda--Crowley has procrastinated on his centennial report to hell and is now making it up at the last minute. The bit about blood and white-out amused me endlessly. Yes, I am 12. Mild slash.

Book Sale by [livejournal.com profile] snowballjane--Aziraphale feels bad about attending auctions because of the high level of greed. Crowley attends to stir up some sin, and if he happens to buy Aziraphale some books, well, it's all in the service of evil, right? Slash if you squint.

The Sacred and the Profane by [livejournal.com profile] afrai--an AU WIP in which Aziraphale, or Zirah, fell, and is quite insane, and Crowley, or Caphriel, remained an angel, and is clinically depressed. I wish there were more. Slash.

Clocks by affluence--Crowley's punishment for betraying Hell is a death sentence--after a fashion. Slash if you squint.

Living Arrangements by [livejournal.com profile] afrai--the flip side of Clocks; where Clocks has marvellous detail in the denial at the beginning, Living Arrangements follows the premise to the bitter end. Slash.

One Big Happy Pantheon by [livejournal.com profile] karose--the infamous Good Omens/Dogma crossover. I read this back when I was glutting on Dogma fic and I soooo didn't understand. Now I do, and it amuses me. Slash.

A Very Well Kept Secret by Lily Rose Granger--not incredibly well-written, unfortunately, but I note it because the premise is exactly what I suspected when I read about Crowley's plants in the novel. Only the novel never actually says what he does with them. I'd love to get into a debate with someone about this concept. Would any Nasty!Crowley fans care to oblige me? Gen.

Literary Interpretations by Joon--I am far, far too amused by Crowley abusing books just to get under Aziraphale's skin. Slash if you squint.

And When He Falls by [livejournal.com profile] flambeau--touted to me as one of the few GO stories with actual sex, although it does fade to black. But Torchfic is always good. And Crowley mocking Aziraphale's pajamas had me in stitches. Slash.

Oh, I'm also tempted to ask if you've read the one where they're reincarnated as Japanese school boys (oddly anime flavoured fic, but it works), or the War/Pepper fic (worked surprisingly well) or... oh, there's another interesting one with the kids and a reference to Aziraphale and Crowley, and damn but I can't remember any more than that.

And yet, I have no friggin' links. If I find links, I will come back and add them to this reply. I just remember reading the stories.

I need to do some research and get back to you.

I don't recall the Japanese school boys one. I've run across the War/Pepper but it wasn't my flavor--oh, well.

I think I've read (and liked) most of what you've got listed here. I've also got a fondness for a demon of my word's Twofish (as told by a demon).

*nodding* That one's cute. I think the reason I didn't stick it on the list is I was having a discussion about the fanonicity of their getting drunk all the time.

Oh, thank

I've been looking for some good omens recs, for ages. For some reason, I can never find good ones.

*bows* I hope they amuse.

I have also written Good Omens fiction myself, if you like my taste and think it may be indicative of my talent.

Yes, I am a member of that group. I have not yet had time to peruse the full archives, but I did join. And post.

I'm infamous now?

All I can say is, back in my Dogma days, about ten different people all said "You should read this fic."

Good gods. That's kind of eerie.

Glad you seemed to like it, though...

acourse, the problem of reading something like this 4 years after the fact is industrial-grade link rot.

Pit of Voles in particular changes its link style a lot.
