Touring fangirl mode engaged for February; niqaeli and I have tickets to and hotel reservations for Escapade, upon the invitation of our dear friends jetpack_monkey, echan, diannelamerc and lizbetann, who were like, "You'd want to come with us, right?" when I visited them last month (my god, was it just last month, it feels AGES ago).

But *plaintive whine* is the, will the, while the Escapade site has the 2012 dates up, nothing about programming or um the vid show looks like it's current. Or even for last year's. So um. Where does one find out about that sort of thing?

I haven't been to Escapade recently but I know that Killa compiled last year's show -- it was a mix of submitted vids and requested vids (for length/fannish variety).

Subscribe to the escape_con journal; you'll find the chatter there. It won't start cooking for another month; usually around late November is when panel suggestions start. (Yay, Escapade! I need to make my flight and hotel reservations soonishly.)

...huh. and are the dates on the songvid page accurate even though they say 2008 for submission dates? It is this sort of thing that has me all a-flail.

The only thing I can safely say is that if you are looking at old dates, then the ones for next year will likely be somewhere close. If you have more specific questions, I recommend contacting the folks who run things via the DW comm or their email. I just volunteer during the con itself; I don't know much before then. :)

I'm not sure what you are expecting? It's only October. The schedule goes live about two weeks before the con. Voting for programming will probably start in January (based on past timing), with suggestions happening a bit earlier.

Okay. Where to people suggest and vote on programming? Because from my poking at the site, it didn't in recent years seem to be there.

also: what I really want to know is about vid show: deadline, expectations, guidelines, submission process.

Everything gets announced on the community and their website -- when programming suggestions are being taken, etc.
