I'm considering doing episode recaps of Primeval JUST TO SHARE MY PAIN.

WHY ARE YOU WATCHING THIS?

I got rec'd this a few years back, and I was lied to!!! OK, so there are dinosaurs and like ONE pretty person, but it is SOOOOO HORRIFYINGLY BAD! I had the first 3 seasons and AFTER 3 episodes I had to DELETE ALL of it.

Huh. I concede your point as I think I was lured in by the fabulous false advertising. But! It is so terrible. I'd know my favorite comedy is Happy Gilmore.

Both my partners love this show. I have watched two or three episodes, and just. . .no. No. It hurts my brain.

I don't know. They usually have such good taste! I must be missing something!

but oh, god, those special effects. ::cringe::.

It probably does not help that the first episode I saw was the one from, umm, series 2, with the giant worm monsters and the fog? Which I gather has bad effects even by the standard of the rest of the show.

Also, giant worms. NOT MY FRIEND.

giant spiders

...

Please tell me what episode this is so I can make extra-certain to NEVER WATCH IT. (Seriously, I just watched Return of the King, and I had to spend the entire Shelob scene with my face pressed into [personal profile] zana16's shoulder whispering "Is it over yet? Is it? Is it?")

Duly noted! Thank you. I am not terribly fond of spider-sized spiders to begin with--and I can, at least in theory, squish them with my shoe.

Be warned about the third episode of Combat Hospital, if you ever decide to watch that show.

If you're going to do that, please cut-tag them for the sake of those of us who do, actually, enjoy the show -- yes, including the first three seasons.

Thanks for the cut-tagging. I really appreciate it.

It's not a matter of the quality of the show -- I'm working on finishing up a very long sequence of fanfics and I need to be able to stay in my head with the version of things I've constructed while I'm doing it. I've written three so far, and am working on the fourth and fifth, all of them interlocking. They're semi-AU, in that I think that when Helen "changes things" she's actually isolating Cutter in a parallel universe, not in the same one with a different timeline. And that affects everyone and everything else. But I won't bore you with that.

Dooooo eeeeet!

I love "I watch/read/endure the pain so you don't have to" stuff. I can glory in the "what the hell" and enjoy your suffering from the comfort of my couch. I am a bad, bad person.
