I... am relatively certain they were not kosher to begin with. The kitchen wasn't kosher.

Ah-ha: a friend of mine
discussed the Aggadah in question
in his blog a couple years back. The one about the oven. The story has always stuck with me and I really should memorize it better if I'm going to make references.
