my brain works in mysterious ways

Is it wrong that I'm now watching White Collar vids with an eye to finding the most commonly used shots, which I should avoid?

Wrong? No.

Making life harder on yourself than necessary? Possibly.

I mean... there are how many White Collar vids now? Still less than a dozen that I know of. And some of those are almost exclusively using clips from the pilot. (Which are *beautiful clips*).

But... you know, whatever makes you happy and gives us vids is okay with me!

Is it because everyones using the same sources or because White Collar has some stock footage that they love? I have vague memories of some establishing shots of New York that I saw more than once but then again I watched my mini marathon while very sick so the details are fuzzy.

I love this show. :) I can't read fanfic or slash for it because it's just too weird, but I could probably watch gen vids without it being awkward. I'm not used to LIKING the shows I do background work on!

I think it is not wrong, it is exactly what I would do. Like, use it if you have to, but try to avoid the same damn shots.

(I'm looking at yooooou Star Trek XI)

In theory, it's a brilliant idea.

(There was a vid in the vidshow of the wedding that used a bit of a clip from the processional vid, and it Hurt Me. And then me trying to tell myself that nobody else noticed, that it only had neon signs and arrows for me... It was extra annoying.)
(And, OMG will somebody, anybody, make a trek vid without the saltshaker?!)

In practice, it seems like for more trouble than value.
