GRRRR

Letter to SpikeTV:

Dear SpikeTV,

Why do you hate me so? I loyally watch my favorite reruns, such as TNG, Highlander, and, once upon a time, 7 Days, on your channel. Sometimes I am even sucked into watching your original programming. John Henson somehow always amuses me.

But right now I want one thing from you, and for some reason you're not giving it to me. I want the Highlander episode "Return of Amanda," which would be airing right now if not for a TNG marathon. And according to my TV schedule, it's not due to air this weekend or next week, either. AND the last time "Return of Amanda" came up in the rotation, last November I believe, it was usurped by the Video Game Awards.

Will you never, ever show this episode? Are you doing this to thwart me specifically? Damn you, SpikeTV!

~Juliette Torres

Hmm, have discovered they're starting DS9 reruns in April. Am strangely tempted, even though I have all of DS9 on tape, just so I could watch them in order. Never done that before.

In case you were wondering, "Return of Amanda" is the ONLY Highlander episode I have never seen. I am very frustrated.

DS9 is coming on Spike!

wow!

I don't have tv at the moment (monetary issues). Could I bet tapes? a fav musician of mine played a lot of aliens on DS9 and I also happen to like that series above all (together with Voyager) but no tapes of same....

I can send you blank 8-hour tapes OR pay you for tapes or what have you....

ONLY if its not inconvenient though....

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
It looks like they're starting it marathon style--April 5 and 6, from 12-9pm, and April 7 from 12-5pm. Not sure what the schedule is after that. Hopefully it'll settle into 1 or 2 episodes a day...

8 hour tapes would probably be best, since it looks like we could easily go through three in the first three days. Send me a stack? (If they keep doing the marathon thing, I'll let you know/buy some myself to keep up.)

A caveat, SpikeTV cuts episodes for syndication in strange, strange ways, as I've been discovering with Highlander. DS9 won't have the Eurominutes issue (where they would leave bits of Eurominutes in and cut random other things out) but they do cut the episodes down to 40 minutes most of the time.

I should have "Return of Amanda" on tape here. Let me know if you need/want it. :) (Which season, again?)

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Umm... season two. Yes. Yes. *hugs you gleefully* Thank you! And for you? Money? Chocolate? Porn?

[identity profile] graygirl.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I have the tape...it's now on top of my television. I will dub it for you this weekend, if you don't mind a recycled tape (not old, just used a couple times). Is there anything else you need while I'm at it? Trying to think what I have handy. DS9 is relatively handy, I believe. HL: Raven. Witchblade...

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh. I would love HL: the Raven.

Witchblade... would you happen to have the last five episodes of season 2?

You're so good to me.

[identity profile] graygirl.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
I should have all of Witchblade. Raven is three tapes, thereabouts...do you know if Europe got extra footage for that series, too? If you can reimburse postage (we've done paypal before), that's cool. I'll let you know how many tapes I end up with here. :)

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-27 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
do you know if Europe got extra footage for that series, too?

Not that I can tell... mind, I've only google to go by, but if it did have Eurominutes, there aren't 200 helpful sites with .wavs and transcriptions like for HL.

Let me know how much I owe you. Thankyousomuch!

Heh, I had something similar to that happen to me. There was ONE episode of TNG that I had never seen and it took me a LONG damn time to finally catch it.

DS9 repeats!?! YAY!!!

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't it frustrating?

Almost as frustrating as how they've released the last three but NOT the first two seasons of EFC on DVD. Damn them.

[identity profile] icanreadyourmnd.livejournal.com 2004-03-31 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
hmmm. Have been thinking about this. I just don't have the extra right now to go out and buy tapes and send them, so will have to forego it I think.

Although, while you're watching, if you see the name James Lee Stanley in the credits could you mark down the episode title? I would appreciate it.

I'll figure something out....

TY!!! anywho :>

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-03-31 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, somewhere I have a book that has complete credits for all the episodes in hte first... 4 or 5 seasons? I'll check through them :)

[identity profile] icanreadyourmnd.livejournal.com 2004-03-31 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, cool! TY!

although he's not listed on the episode credits either on the Star Trek official website or the IMDB. he always played an alien and I think he was a security guy for Odo for a bit too, as well as a singing Klingon and other things. But he never made note of which eps he was in and I'm one of those fans who has an interest....

once upon a time, 7 Days, on your channel

Do you think they finally noticed how much Frank was getting undressed and otherwise being exploited? }:-)

Are you doing this to thwart me specifically?

I wish that they would show "Indiscretions" when it's actually supposed to fit in the series -- or, y'know, *at all*, since they've skipped it entirely a couple of times.

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2004-04-01 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, they showed it by production number once. (It was the second to last episode filmed... the last being "Two of Hearts." They let the regulars go home early.) I got lucky, really.

Probably the 7Days logic was, "Hmm, is this a cult classic, despite its cheesetasticness? Not really."
