Hey, Firefly writers

Where do you get your colorful Chinese phrases?

I read (in a currently locked post, or I'd link to it) that Taoists refer to the G-spot as the "black pearl." I'd like to know that phrase in Chinese, if I could. Anyone got any idea what it might be or where to find it?

*whistles innocently and goes about innocent writings*

Good lord. You just totally made my night. My whole week, even.

Alas, this comes with two problems for me:

My browser can't handle the Chinese characters babelfish returns, and I wouldn't know how to pronounce them anyway: I need pinyin.

I can't confirm that the phrase "black pearl" is translating to the correct one that means "g-spot" and just, "black" and "pearl."

Heh. Yes. That was the original context of the post I found it in, and in fact the context of the story I need this phrase for. *grins*

Very good point. :p

This (http://www.after-glow.com/gspot.html) doesn't give the phrase/word, either.

Such an interesting discovery though. I suspect Disney has no idea... ;)

Oh, somebody has to know. I mean, it's sex. Somewhere there is a writer quietly tittering over every time someone says Jack Sparrow, captain of the Black Pearl.

It's like the "clit commander" line in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. *snickering*

I'm sure you have this.

And dictionary.com has links to on-line dictionaries in other languages.

IIRC, isn't the whole female apparatus referred to as the Jade Gate in Chinese?

No, I didn't, but thank you very much for the link!

I wouldn't know, but this wouldn't surprise me at all.

Heh. Well, you do know that the meditative mantra >i>Om mani padme om - 'the jewel in the lotus' - is just cute-speak for fucking. His jewel, her lotus, etc.

Mmmm, dirty Tantric!Sex...

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2003-07-27 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
*blink* Which word is "padme"? Because I'm suddenly wondering about the dirtiness factor of TPM.

[identity profile] carmarthen.livejournal.com 2003-07-28 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Lotus, I believe.

[identity profile] jmtorres.livejournal.com 2003-07-28 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Uh-huh. Riiiiiight. I'll just be over here giggling insanely.

[identity profile] carmarthen.livejournal.com 2003-07-28 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I bet they meant it innocently. Somehow. Maybe.

*snerk*

Thanks for the laughs, especially about TPM. Remind me if/when I create a conlang to come up with some obscure euphemisms/poeticisms/whatever you want to call them.
