*p ish?
So for the record before you read this entry, I am not concerned and I am not seeking advice.
So if I wasn't on the non-hormone pills of my birth control pack I probably wouldn't have thought what I'm experiencing was "oh is this a period? or my body trying to have a period?" I'm not bleeding. I had the insomnia cannot be treated even with heavy duty hard-core makes me wobbly drugs, I have the, I don't know how to describe it, like, pelvic twinges? That on the last birth control meant my uterus was going "it's time for a period, but the pill you're taking says it's not, are you there human it's me uterus" especially when I laugh or cough--typical occasions which, were I not on hormones, might be open the floodgates moments. But there are no floodgates.
Which, the gyn told me I would experience lessening of my period symptoms on birth control. I figured she was mostly talking about things like cramps. The particular symptom I was interested in lessening was the everything is horrible cry for no reason day, but bonus on the cramps and lighter flow. That day didn't totally go away on the standard 21 on/7 off birth control, so this last month I switched to a 24 on/4 off birth control. It seems to have pretty well knocked out the cry for no reason day, and also I guess lightened my flow to approximately imperceptible.
I'm on the last day of the off pills and like I said, insomnia, twinges, and that's it. Which is fine. I mean the insomnia's not great but I honestly never really thought that would be fixable, it's so so untreatable. Nothing I've ever taken has touched it including the new med my psych prescribed me that I accidentally tried on PMS insomnia day. I was shaky, lights were too bright, I think I could have slept for 20 hours if
jetpack_monkey had not, per my instructions, woken me up after 12. I mean 12 hours from when I took the drug, because despite the inability to like be upright or move steadily, I didn't fall asleep for about 4 hours.
My PMS insomnia is unstoppable. And I think I'm going to stick to melatonin and valerian because even though those don't get me to sleep when my period is due to start (whether it actually starts thereafter or just experimentally twinges at me) they don't turn me into complete zombie when sleep is not happening.
But they are working tonight so I think I will go lay down now. And, be happy that along with the bleeding, crying day went away.
