The internet informs me that the water was just under 61°F, which is actually a good 6° lower than in San Diego this time of year, where I had the opportunity to do this. Interesting! Reading back on my earlier experience, that was subjectively colder. No idea why. Maybe partially because I stayed out in it longer and ultimately lost more body heat to it.

Sometime I would like to take like, three weeks vacation and just hopscotch fanhome to fanhome across the lower 48. Possibly even southern Canada. Failing that I totally want to drive around to visit everyone within like, a day-and-a-half radius over various holiday weekends.
