V. cool discussion. My wife and I have been talking about a potential segment of her women/gender studies classes doing an analysis of music videos. We spent one entertaining afternoon looking at old videos, like Total Eclipse of the Heart and some Pat Benatar stuff and whatnot. I've told her that she needs to see "Bad Romance" and the full version of "Papparazzi" because they have some similar themes running through them, though I think the better-done version is "Bad Romance."

Watching the "Bad Romance" video set off a bunny of a SF fic in my head, where main character is an assassin that's been put into upscale Blade-Runner-esque sex trafficking to take out gold jaw boy. I'm sure it would turn into something else if I ever decided to actually write the fic, but I think it's probably better left unwritten.
