Ah! No! Midshipman Kennedy does get mentioned twice on the Indefatigable in Midshipman Hornblower. In Chapter 4, he and Hornblower play at courtly manners while he delivers a message to Hornblower about how Pellew would like to see him, and he also appears briefly in chapter 6.
Oh, I do know about the courtly scene, but except for that part, I think Bracegirdle counts as the closest Archie!analogue - he's in the Frogs and the Lobsters and all.
I would really love for someone to write me the story of why Pellew's first son's name is Pownoll Bastard Pellew. I mean, I know that the first name was the name of the first captain Pellew served under; but that middle name begs for story.

And yeah, it's clear from even the few chapters I read of Northcote's biography that Pellew wasn't quite the Jacobin that Hornblower was.
